Øya and MEN bring acts to Berlin

The Øya festival and Music Export Norway bring three Norwegian acts to Berlin in May.

In collaboration with Melt Booking, Intro Magazine and Music Export Norway, Øya presents a great party May 16th  in Berlin. It takes place at the Bi Nuu, a club in Kreuzberg. The club is located inside / under the U-Bahn Schlesisches Tor, and will be the perfect setting for a different kind of celebration of the evening before 17th of May, Norways independence day.

Team Me
Indie pop band Team We have in recent years had a lot of success which does not seem to stop. Last year they released the great debut album To The Treetops, which entered the top ten on the sales list in Norway and was rewarded with a Norwegian Grammy. This spring, they played the biggest festival for new new rock and pop, SXSW in Texas. The next few months, they hit the road in England, Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Denmark, Japan and of course Norway.

Einar Stray
The young songwriter Einar Stray is one of Norways’s aspiring musical hopes. He predicted a brilliant career since he debuted with the album Chiaroscuro last year. Styles such as post-rock, indie pop, shoegazing are often mentioned in attempts to describe the music. Einar Stray will play a lot of concerts around Europe in 2012, including at several German festivals.

Sandra Kolstad
Sandra Kolstad is one of the most exciting new electronica names in Norway. Last year she made her debut, with the album Crux. The music moves through several electronic styles, such as synth-pop and techno, made by her analog synthesizers. Kolstad is known for combining music with a strong visual expression. This summer she was playing at Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

In addition, the Nordic By Nature DJs will keep the party going throughout the night. They are working to promote Nordic music in Berlin. More info here
