New co-owner of Music Export Norway

by Webmaster, 30.11.2011

The Norwegian Music Publishers Association is from December 2011 one of the owners of Music Export Norway.

From December 2011, the Norwegian Music Publishers Association (NMFF) is one of the owners of Music Export Norway. The association represents the largest publishers in Norway, and works both nationally and internationally with increasing the members' level of competence and collaboration.

This means that Music Export Norway now has six owners. The others are IFPI Norway, FONO - the Norwegian Independent Record Companies Association, NOPA - Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists, GramArt (the Recording Artists Association) and MFO - Musicians Union.

Ken Ingwersen from NMFF will join as member of the board.

- The Norwegian Music Publishers Association is very pleased with becoming a part of Music Export Norway and the important work they do for Norwegian music export. It is a natural step that we join the other industry organizations as owners, and that we through this will strenghten the focus on publishing, says Ingwersen.

Managing Director of Music Export Norway, Inger Dirdal, says it is important for the future of Norwegian music export that the publishers now become co-owners of the company

- Publishing rights are becoming more and more important in the value chain of music, she says.
